How much has changed since MSNA unionized nurses in Bangor, Maine voted to strike last winter? The nurses’ employer, EMMC, is still unwilling to compromise and find a solution to nurses’ concerns about safe staffing. Overworked nurses have grown concerned that patient care may be seriously affected by poor nurse-to-patient staffing ratios.
